The Pearly Gates

A rich man went to heaven,
and he knocked at The Pearly Gates,
St. Peter came to greet him and said,
you can’t get in today.

The price of admission, you should know,
is not measured in worldly ways,
someone must cry over you,
if you want to get thru The Pearly Gates.

So they both looked back down to see,
if anyone was shedding tears,
no one seemed unhappy,
and no one seemed to care.

St. Peter said, you must go back,
and live your life again,
for the price of admission to get in here,
you need at least one loyal friend.

The rich man had to try again,
and this time he got it right,
he saw what he was doing wrong,
and he worked hard to change his life.

St. Peter greeted him once again,
and was very pleased to find,
there were several people crying for him,
that the rich man left behind.

St. Peter said, it’s OK now,
you are welcome to come in,
you’ve learned what is important,
and you’ve made some loyal friends.

The price of admission, as you know,
is not measured in worldly ways,
someone must cry over you,
if you want to get thru The Pearly Gates.
