Somewhere in Time

Two immortal souls existed somewhere in time,
they could truly learn to love if they would live another life.
So they decided to be born again they each chose worthwhile lives,
now they knew the time had come when they would leave each other's side.

They found a perfect time and place where they’d be needed more each day,
little did they know they didn’t live that far away.
They’d changed a good deal since they had seen each other last,
for they’d given up the memory of their eternal past.

I know you, you know me, we met before, I’m sure you see,
you and I were friends somewhere in time.
Tell me where, tell me when, did we swear to meet again,
I knew you, you knew me, somewhere in time.

They each came bearing gifts from God to help humanity,
the use of which is the only way their souls could be set free.
They gave all God had given them tirelessly and true,
soon they began to recollect all that they once knew.

Now they remembered why they were alive,
the reason flowed like breezes through the windmills of their minds,
and they knew they were friends somewhere in time.

Now they realized the reason they were here,
they loved so unconditionally for they no longer lived in fear.
Eventually they’ll be released from all their worldly cares,
Love is where they’ll go to and they’ll meet each other there.

I know you, you know me, we met before, I’m sure you see,
you and I were friends somewhere in time.
Tell me where, tell me when, did we swear to meet again,
I knew you, you knew me, somewhere in time.
